What would I tell someone doing the propeller program next year?

Try to allow more time available to be able to meet your counterparts at the councils you visit as these meetings can be a great way to gather information and make networks throughout Local Government and in your industry.

What have I learned?

That while a lot of Councils provide very similar services there are Councils that provide services not often considered such as Housing, Childcare and marine conservation services.

What surprised me?

That there was a significant amount of Councils that were not financially sustainable from rate payers and relied heavily on Government grants/funding as these Councils had low population and or a large area that the Council covered.
